amulets of Protection

This ongoing series of hand-painted and collaged fans honors women and family members who have shaped my world, preserving their influence on cultural memory and legacy. Each fan becomes an act of resistance against erasure — using repetition and pattern-making to insist that these lives and lineages endure. The series draws on Adinkra symbols, found objects, repurposed materials, and family archival photographs, weaving together personal and collective histories of the African diaspora into a singular, intimate form.
