Am I next? The Black Lives Matter movement (BLM) has been a call to action that has affected me. I made this collage work on paper because I thought of my own children when I saw mothers, sisters, wives, and daughters losing their loved ones. Here I use stenciled words, photo transfer of images of women of color, the call/ demand that Black Lives Matter and Malcolm's quote that “chickens come home to roost" to name this moment. There are subtle images of myself with a mask and a small child asking “Am I next?”
